Two teenage boys drown while bathing in Ganga
Kanpur: Two teenage youths drowned while their 33-year-old companion was rescued, while taking bath in Ganga near Namami Gange Ghat in Gangaghat Kotwali police area of Unnao on Sunday.The incident took place when one Milan Sharma (18), son of Ramesh Sharma, resident of Gandhinagar mohalla, Shuklaganj, Shaban (18), son of Nizam, resident of Bansmandi Kanpur and Ravi Gupta (33), son of Ramji Gupta, resident of Maniram Bagiya, Kanpur were bathing near the Namami Gange Ghat in Shuklaganj on Sunday. All of a sudden, the three started drowning. Hearing the screams, the divers present there rescued Ravi Gupta by jumping into the Ganga. Milan and Shaban could not be traced. On receiving the information, the police launched a massive search operation with the help of divers. After a lot of effort, the divers fished out the bodies of Milan and Shaban at some distance from the ghat. Both were sent to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared both dead. The family members of both refused for the postmortem after which the bodies were handed over to them, the police said.
