Times News NetworkKanpur: Two police personnel were suspended for their suspected role in a land encroachment case in Machhariya under the Naubasta police station area of the South Zone of the Kanpur Commissionerate.DCP (South) Deependra Nath Chaudhary suspended Awas Vikas outpost in-charge Shailendra Raghav and S-I Ankit Khatna, posted at Naubasta police station, with immediate effect after an investigation found allegations against them to be prima facie correct.Complaints regarding land encroachment in Naubasta Machhariya had been continuously reaching the administrative officials. Taking note of the seriousness of the matter, additional district magistrate Rajesh Kumar prepared an internal report that mentioned collusion and the suspected role of the police personnel.Based on the confidential report, DCP (South) assigned the investigation to ACP Ghatampur. During the investigation, the working methods of Shailendra Raghav and Ankit Khatna were found to be entirely suspicious.Immediately after the ACP’s investigation report came to light, DCP (South) issued orders to suspend both sub-inspectors.
