The court while acquitting them from murder charges, observed in its order that they would have to undergo one month more jail term if they failed to pay the fine.

According to the prosecution case, complainant Sajar Husain had married his daughter Zeba Khan to Salman Khan, resident of Macharia Raja Singh ka Talab in Naubasta, on January 11, 2017. Zeba's inlaws used to harass her as they were not satisfied with the gifts given at the time of marriage.

Sajar Husain had alleged in his FIR that on May 23, 2017 at around 1pm, Salman, his mother Nazreen, brother-in-law Ehsan Khan and sister-in-law Shagufta thrashed Zeba for not fetching Rs 50,000, and threw her out of the house.

They also told her father on phone that Zeba could live with them only after they got the money. Zeba, who was pregnant, could not bear the torture, and she jumped into Panki river. Hher dead body was found near Panki power house.

The court, after going through the evidence on record, observed that as the prosecution had successfully proved the charges filed under section 304 B/498 of IPC and section 4 of the Anti Dowry Act, therefore, the accused were liable to be punished accordingly.
