Two minor boys drown in Ganga in Jajmau in city

Kanpur: Two minors drowned in the Ganga in Jajmau area on Friday. They had gone to take bath in the river along with four others when they went into deep waters and drowned.
According to reports, the police identified the deceased as Shiva Singh (14), son of Ajay Kumar and Advik alias Lakshya (15), son of Sarvendra Kumar, residents of Chakeri’s Safipur area. Sushil’s son Hrithik Pandey (14), Santosh’s son Nikhil Nishad (14), Rajan’s son Vivek Nishad (15) and Rajaram’s son Aryan Nishad (15) of the same area along with Shiva and Advik, had reached Siddhanth Ghat to bathe in the Ganga. While bathing, all six started drowning in the middle of the river. Hearing their cries, the divers present on the spot jumped into the river to rescue them. After a massive effort, they pulled out all the boys from the river and alerted the police. The police immediately admitted them to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared Shiva and Advik dead on arrival. tnn
