Two killed, 1 injured in Banda road crash

Kanpur: Two youths were killed and a third was injured after a truck ran over them following a head-on collision between two bikes on the main road near Dohatara village in the Chilla police station area of Banda on Thursday night.The accident occurred when Sarwar (25), a resident of Lalauli village in the Lalauli police station area of Fatehpur, and his companion Ishrat Khan (30), were riding from Banda to their village. From the opposite direction, Pramod Kumar, a resident of Dighwat village in the Chilla police station area, was heading towards Chilla when the two bikes collided. Both riders fell onto the road and were crushed by a truck coming from behind.Sarwar and Khan died at the scene while Kumar sustained serious injuries and was taken to the district hospital. None of the riders was wearing a helmet. Inspector Anoop Dubey said the injured Kumar was sent to the district hospital, while the bodies of Sarwar and Khan were sent to the medical college. The families of the deceased were informed, the truck was seized, and police were searching for the driver.
