KANPUR: Two persons have been arrested on Tuesday in connection with the recovery of meat from the roadside four days ago in Gambhirpur village of Saadh police station area of the district. The police, on being informed, had sent the meat for laboratory test. The villagers had alleged that the meat was of a cow, which was thrown by car-borne men.
After the incident, the police initiated an investigation and launched a search for the accused.

Mansoor Ahmed said that after the meat was found, a case was registered and the search for the accused was launched.
“During the investigation, the police zeroed in on the two accused and they were arrested. The arrested men have been identified as Arshad resident of Civil Lines Machli Ka Hata in Gwaltoli police station area and Saif Khan, a resident of Dalel Purwa under Anwarganj police station. The accused had thrown the meat from their car itself. The police have also recovered the car. After interrogating accused, they were sent to jail,” said SHO further.
