Bodies of all five victims were severely crushed, reveals postmortem report
Kanpur: In a tragic road accident on Monday that claimed the lives of four students from Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology (PSIT) and their driver, the doctors who performed the postmortem examination disclosed that the bodies of all five victims were severely crushed.The deceased students were identified as Ayushi Patel, a first-year BTech student, Garima Tripathi (BTech 3rd year), Prateek Singh (BTech 4th year), and Satish, (BTech 3rd year). The driver of the car, Vijay Sahu also lost his life in the accident. A truck carrying iron rods, which was following the Alto, collided with the car, crushing it between the dumper and the truck. Firefighters and police officers had to cut through the car parts to retrieve the bodies, which were then sent to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital. The doctors at the hospital declared all four students and the driver dead.The drivers of both the trucks fled the scene abandoning their vehicles.The doctors who performed the postmortem examination disclosed that the bodies of all five victims were severely crushed. They said the primary factor leading to their death was internal haemorrhaging. The skeletal structures of the students and the driver were extensively shattered."Instead of using the term fracture, we have employed the term crushed in the postmortem report due to the shattering of their bones across all parts of their bodies," said one of the medical experts who conducted the autopsy on the deceased persons.The last rites of all five were performed at Dyodhi Ghat. The bodies of the four students, along with that of the driver were 0carried together in a procession.DCP West said that on the complaint of the students families, a case has been registered against the two drivers. "Search is being conducted for their arrest," he further said.
