Two booked for abduction, rape bid in Kanpur

Kanpur: A teacher, on her way to tuition classes, was forcibly taken on a scooter by a local youth and his aide on Tuesday evening. They pulled her into a residence and attempted to assault her sexually. The woman, in her complaint lodged on Wednesday, stated that the perpetrator tried to coerce her into consuming alcohol before attempting to rape her. The assailant also damaged her mobile phone when she resisted. The teacher, managed to escape and contacted her brother after borrowing phone from a woman at a neighbouring shop. Following the teacher's complaint, a case was registered against the accused Vaibhav Verma and his associate. ACP Manjay Singh said, "A case has been registered under relevant sections. Efforts on to arrest the accused."
