Speaking at a seminar in the National Youth Day symposium organized for youth volunteers in the project office, he said vector-borne diseases could be controlled only by applying the energy of youth in a positive direction. “Prevention from vector-borne diseases is possible only when we do not allow mosquito-borne conditions to arise. Everyone should cooperate together to make their locality and district disease free,” he added.

Along with this, it was necessary to make people aware that in case of fever, they should not do any treatment on their own. Instead they should visit the closest health center where fever screening and treatment is available free of charge, he added.

Rajan Prasad, divisional programme manager of State Innovations in Family Planning Services Project Agency (SIFPSA), said that “we couldn’t stop the breeding of mosquitoes, but we could create conditions so that mosquitoes do not breed.”

District coordinator of the project, Samman Singh said that the youth were asked to not allow the conditions of mosquito-borne diseases to arise. They were also apprised about the treatment of dengue, malaria and asked to inform the local people about vector-borne diseases.
