SUV driver runs over SI, kills trader
Kanpur: A sub-inspector was severly injured after he was run over by a vehicle while he was conducting vehicle checking under Tikra Chowki of Bithoor police station area in Kanpur, at 1am late on Monday night
Fellow police personnel rushed the injured cop to a hospital. Kashyap, a resident of Kashyap Nagar under Kalyanpur police station area in Tikra town, was taken to a private nursing home in Kalyanpur where he succumbed to injuries.
Bithoor Station In-charge inspector Ashok Kumar Saroj said that the police have removed the damaged vehicle with the help of a JCB and seized it. The injured S-I is undergoing treatment at Paras Hospital in Singhpur. A search for the accused is underway.
