Jyoti and her young daughter had been living at her father's house for several years.

The shootings took place whilst her husband was present, who sustained a hand injury during the incident. Police arrived swiftly, seized the weapon, apprehended Harshvardhan and initiated post-mortem procedures for the deceased.

This harrowing incident took place near Mahera Chungi in the Friends Colony area.

The house belonged to former CMO Dr L.S. Chauhan, where his daughter Jyoti, aged 40, lived with her three-year-old daughter Tashu.

Following her 2019 marriage to Rahul in Lucknow, Jyoti had spent three years caring for her father, whilst her husband, a practising advocate, made regular visits.

Despite being rushed to the district hospital, both were declared dead on arrival.

Police investigations disclosed that the former CMO had given a house and 25 bighas of land to his daughter, which angered Harshvardhan.

SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma confirmed the property dispute as the cause of the killings, stating the accused was in custody and the bodies were sent for post-mortem.
