Kanpur: Smita Gupta won first prize for her recipe Millets Lapsi in ‘Sri Ann’ cooking championship held on the last day of Eat Right Millets Fair here on Sunday.
As many as ten women took part in the event which was conducted by master chef Kavita and was a direct telecast. Saeeda and Suman were adjudged as the joint runner up for their recipes ‘Kofta curry’ and ‘Ragi ladoo’ respectively.
Similarly, the third prize was jointly won by Savita Tiwari and Nikunj. Savita prepared ‘Bati chokha’ and ‘Millet laddoo’ while Nikunj cooked ‘Millet tacos’. A panel discussion was also held on the theme of millet-based startups in presence of Hari Shankar Singh, deputy commissioner (food), food security and drug administration. Assistant commissioner Shailendra Pratap Singh was also present. tnn
