Show-cause notices to lawyers

KANPUR: The Kanpur Bar Association (KBA) has issued show cause notices to seven lawyers, including three executive members and asked them to explain why their membership be not cancelled and their names referred to Bar Council of UP for disciplinary action.
The lawyers are Vinay Awasthi, Ranjay Singh and Parasnath Sharma (office-bearers of KBA) Prachi Srivastava, Ashish Trivedi, Ashish Mishra and Sunil Tripathi alias Kakua.
KBA general secretary Anoop Kumar Dwivedi stated in the notices that these lawyers had opposed the Holi Milan function on March 18 and also created hurdles in organising the programme. Some of them attended the function in an inebriated state and also issued misleading statements.
