Rinku, Madhav Kaushik’s partnership helps Meerut Mavericks post 176 for 6

Kanpur: Rinku Singh and Madhav Kaushik’s fine half centuries and their 98 runs partnership for the third wicket helped Meerut Mavericks post a total of 176 for 6 in their innings. The two joined in the middle when the Meerut team had lost two top wickets for 27 runs in 2.5 overs. They first settled themselves and then opened the face of their bats. Rinku was more aggressive, completing his half century first in 32 balls, plundering 4 boundaries and 4 sixes. Shiven Malhotra, playing the first match, got success in separating the pair when Prashant Veer held a catch of Rinku Singh at long on boundary.Another new entrant Rohit Dwivedi scalped Rajeev Chaturvedi for 3 by a slower and straight delivery. Captain Madhav Kaushik followed Rinku Singh and he too returned after scoring a half century in 36 balls. He mistimed the stroke and Prashant Veer took a difficult catch behind the bowling end. His 50 came with the help of 4 boundaries and 2 sixes.Yash Garg in dying overs accelerated the run rate hitting 25 runs in 13 balls.
