Ranji Trophy match: UP, Bihar heading for a draw

Kanpur: The four-day Ranji Trophy match between UP and Bihar is now heading for a draw as weather played a crucial role and at the end of third day’s play Bihar in its incomplete first innings scored 187 for 7 in 78.1 overs at Victoria Park Meerut on Sunday. On day two 48 overs could be played and Bihar put into bat had scored 126 runs for 3. On day three 37.1 overs could be bowled by UP bowlers and Bihar batsmen added 61 runs and lost 4 more wickets.Bihar’s overnight pair of Sraman and S Gani could not stand in the middle for long time and their 87 runs union separated when S Gani was adjudged as run out on a direct throw of Sameer Rizvi. He scored 41 runs. Kartik Tyagi removed Sraman for 87. Kartik thereafter sent back Sachin Kumar Singh for 5 and Ankit Rajput bagged the wicket of Bipin Saurabh when Aryan Juyal held him behind the wicket. At close Pratap was batting on 22 and Veer Pratap had to open his account.
