Raid at stamp vendors shop

KANPUR: The administrative team raided stalls of 10 stamp vendors in Kanpur nagar court and seized 25 passports from one of the stalls.
The team comprising city magistrate SP Sahi and treasury officer Mohd Jameel Khan raided the stamp stalls on a tip-off. The team first checked the stall of one Pawan Singh and thereafter went to the stall of Mohd Waseem. From there, the team seized 23 passports and sought an explanation from the stamp vendor.The vendor claimed he also sold passport forms and all passports were of his customers. The team was not satisfied by his explanation and confiscated all passports.
At Mujahideen alias Raju's stall, the license holder was found absent while some other was running the stall. The team also found a seal of the State Bank of India from one of stamp vendor's stall and took the same in its possession.
