KANPUR: Prithviraj Singh Chauhan of Meerut will lead the UP under-14 team in Central Zone Raj Singh Dungarpur cricket tournament to be held in Meerut from May 3 to May 22.
The junior selection team has announced a 17-member team. Apart from them, the selectors also have names of 7 reserved players.
As many as six teams from the Central Zone will participate in the tournament.
They are Uttrakhand (CAU), UPCA, Vidarbha Cricket Association, (Pool A) and Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), Chhattisgarh Cricket Association (CSCS) and Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA).
The members of the team are Prithviraj Singh Chauhan-captain-Meerut), Rudraveer Singh, Aviral Saxena, Malay Kanyal, Siddhant Punetha (all Ghaziabad), Vansh Kumar (Saharanpur), Aonik Rana (Shamli), Naveeep Shakya (Firozabad), Yashvardhan Singh (W-K), Shashwat Krishna (both Lucknow), Sarthak Chechi, Shivansh Bidhuri, Kush Mishra (all GB Nagar) Kartikeya Varshneya (Agra), Pranveer Singh (Hamirpur), Yatharth Vyas (Moradabad), Aryan Umrao (Fatehpur), Reserved-Atharva Singh, Pradyumn Kaushik (both GB Nagar), Arjun Pathania (Ghaziabad), Rudransh Sharma (Saharanpur), Aditya Singh (Kanpur) and Adeeb Rehman (Aligarh).
The itinerary of the tournament is -
May 3 to May 5-Uttarakhand v/s UPCA and Rajasthan v/s Chhattisgarh
May 7 to May 9- Uttrakhand v/s Vidarbha and Rajasthan v/s Madhya Pradesh
May 11 to May 13-UPCA v/s Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh v/s Madhya Pradesh
May 15 to May 17-First semi-final- Winner of group A v/s runner up of group B and second semi-final-Winner of group B v/s Runner up of group A
May 19 to May 22-Final between first and second semi-final winners.
