On an average, city is now receiving power for nearly 18 hours a day.
On Sunday, the entire city was put under rostering for six and a half hours. Rostering was done both at night and day. The first power-cut was as early as at 4.55 am, which lasted for two hours. At night, there was no power in the city at 1.30 am.
On Saturday, a total of five hours of power-cut was done. The longest spell was from 1.30 pm to 4 pm.
On Friday, four hours of rostering was recorded.
On Thursday, rostering for a total of two hours was done, commencing at 4.10 am.
Such an erratic power supply has affected the daily routine of the people. Kesco says that rostering is done by system control situated in Lucknow and it has nothing to do with it. However, when power-cut takes place due to snag, the staff attends the problem.
Between May and August, the city has already witnessed severe rostering.
With less production, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) is unable to meet the demand.
Kesco R D Pandey blamed less production to be the cause of power crisis and stated that rostering was done by UPPCL and not Kesco.
