Pledge for clean Ganga, cultural events mark Bithoor Mahotsava

Mahotsava on Saturday while Satyam Rajpoot of Uma Shankar Education center stood as the runners-up.

The second day’s function began with a pledge taken by the students and the visitors that they would keep the Ganga clean and pure. Kiran Nishad, convenor of Jal Shakti ministry/Namami Gange Mission while addressing the students and others said that it was our duty to keep the river clean and fresh. We should not pour garbage and pollutants into the river", Kiran said. An Army hawaldar Vikram Singh Chandel displayed the technique of reading and hearing Bhagwad Gita by digital remote and said everyone should read Gita as it has answers to all questions.

He said by using remote, one can hear Gita in Hindi, Sanskrit and English. Later, singer Sandhya recited a song dedicated to Ganga.

The officials of the education department in their stalls informed the children and visitors about good education and its benefits in life . Charak Gramodyog Sewashram displayed its products and told visitors about the benefits of Ayurvedic medicines.

DUDA, departments of village development, panchayati raj, horticulture, women's welfare, food, child development, tourism, culture, Swachcha Bharat Mission, SBI, LIC, Bank of Baroda, KMC, Smart City Ltd, and Jal Nigam have opened stalls in the festival.

On Friday, besides art competition, students recited patriotic songs based on 'Veer Rasa'. Tanisha Singh of Motherland Academy, (Rura) was adjudged as winner in competition while Rosy Bano of Uma Shankar Katiyar Education Centre and Anamika Mishra of Abhinav Sewa Sansthan were declared joint runners-up. Smita Verma of Saraswati Mahila Vidyalaya stood third.
