murder of a farmer

The deceased Hari Babu, a resident of the Wajidpur area under

Chaubeypur police station

of the district, used to grow vegetables and sell them in the nearby market.

Police have identified the accused as Pratap, a resident Wajidpur. Confessing his crime, he told the police that he had an old dispute with his neighbour Hari Babu over tying of buffalo at a vacant plot near their house.

He said as a result of the dispute he had attacked Hari Babu with a wooden log on the morning of November 7 while he was on way to the nearby market on a motorcycle to sell vegetables.

Following the attack, Hari Babu succumbed to injuries at Lala Lajpat Rai hospital, said station house officer Chaubeypur Rakesh Kumar Maurya.

“Pratap, who was arrested from his house on Monday has been booked under relevant sections, including section 304 of IPC and sent to jail, the SHO added.
