NSK defeat Gorakhpur Lions by 7 wkts

Kanpur: Noida Superkings established their supremacy in the ongoing T-20 league defeating Gorakhpur Lions by 7 wickets on the last ball of the match. This was Noida team’s seventh match and they have win six out of them and have collected highest 12 points so far.They successfully chased the target of 183 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Earlier Gorakhpur lions had scored 182 runs for 6 wickets . Noida team lost three quick wickets and reduced to 3 for 123 in 15.2 overs. Thereafter Aditya and Prashant Veer pulled their side to victory.Opening pair of Almas and Samarth Singh gave a befitting reply to Gorakhpur by adding 88 runs in their union. A Reman VI gave initial breaks to Gorakhpur claiming the wicket of Almas Shaukat .Almas scored 46 runs before being caught by Shivam Sharma. Samarth Singh thereafter was trapped infront of wicket by Rehman VI . His contribution of 50 runs came in 40 balls with the help of 3 boundaries and 2 sixes.Captain Nitish Rana fell victim to Vijay Kumar when he was caught by Yashowardhan for 14.Aditya and Prashant Veer thereafter took the charge and finished the match in style.They started their innings from 126 for 3 and scored 15,19 and 16 runs in 17th,18th and 19th overs respectively In final over MOida team required 7 runs.Prashant Veer snicked Sunil kumar to fine leg boundary and won the match. They added 62 runs in their unbeaten Union. Prashant Veer and Aditya scored unbeaten 25 and 46 runs respectively. Abhishek Goswami and Dhruv Jurel gave Gorakhpur Lions a sound start after being invited to bat first. They added 93 runs for the first wicket in just 9 overs at the rate of 10 runs per over. The Noida captain changed his bowlers to break their partnership and got success in the ninth over dropped by Saurabh Kumar. Abhishek threw his bat outside the off stump delivery and Samarth Singh held a diving catch at deep cover. The third umpire took his time to decide the verdict and decided in favour of bowler Saurabh Kumar. Abhishek hit 44 runs in 30 balls plundering 4 boundaries and 3 sixes.Siddharth Sarvan maintained the run rate with senior partner Dhruv and added 56 runs in 6.5 overs. They frustrated Noida bowlers for a long time. However, Naman got success in separating the pair when Almas caught Siddarth at deep cover. Siddharth chipped 19 runs.At this juncture, Gorakhpur lost three wickets including of Dhruv Jurel and added just 11 runs. Bhubaneswar trapped Sameer Chaudhary for 1 and Naman Tiwari scalped the prize wicket of Dhruv Jurel when Almas once again held a catch at deep cover position. Jurel scored 85 runs in 49 balls hitting 10 boundaries and 3 sixes.Naman bagged Shivam Sharma for no score. Yashowardhan and Rishav Rai played the remaining overs safely. Naman bagged three wickets and emerged as a successful bowler.
