No power rostering

KANPUR: All arrangements were made by Kesco to ensure uninterrupted power supply on Saturday so that cricket lovers could watch the World Cup final match unhindered.
Kesco higher-ups had placed a request with the authorities of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) asking them to place the industrial city under no power rostering zone.
The cheering of the fans was therefore, heard from every house.
A senior Kesco official said that there would be a rise in the power consumption on Saturday than usual. The Kesco authorities had made special preparations to attend to the local faults which might occur.
"We had requested UPPCL authorities to ensure that Kanpur that there is no power rostering on Saturday during the match," said Keshav Ram, chief engineer, Kesco.
