New commissioner visits sports hub

Kanpur: Divisional commissioner Lokesh M on Saturday visited The Sports Hub along with his predecessor Raj Shekhar and witnessed the facilities available there. Outgoing former commissioner Raj Shekhar informed him that this sport centre has 22 out of 28 indoor games facilities of olympic games and was being operated on the basis of self-sustainable and revenue generating model. The centre provides free sports coaching to around 1,000 children every year free of cost. He apprised him that the project was raised under smart city project and chief minister and chief secretary had both praised it. MHPL director Praneet Agarwal said the building had been raised on pre-engineered steel building technology and was powered with a solar system . Divisional commissioner praised the smart city project, saying it was a world class project.
