Kanpur: Continuing their crackdown on law breakers, the police externed builder Haji Wasi, accused in connection with the Nai Sadak violence incident in the district. The court of joint police commissioner Vipin Mishra issued banishment orders against builder Haji Wasi. The accused has multiple criminal cases registered against him across various police stations in the city. Earlier, police initiated documentation of Wasi's criminal activities.
Violence broke out near Nai Sadak and Dada Miyan Ahata following Friday prayers on June 3 last year. The incident was linked to a Rs one crore deal between Mukhtar Baba, proprietor of Baba Biryani, and builder Haji Wasi regarding the evacuation of Chandreshwar Hata. The police subsequently arrested and imprisoned several persons, including primary suspects Hayat Zafar Hashmi, Javed Ahmad, Mukhtar Baba and Haji Wasi.
Joint police commissioner Vipin Mishra announced that Haji Wasi, who resides in Bhannapurwa, Chamanganj, received a six-month district banishment order. Additionally, three other persons--Akbar Singh Chandel from Sarai Meeta in Panki, Priyanshu Gaur from Kesa Colony in Nawabganj and Anshu Nishad from Kantintapurwa in Chaubeypur--have been banished for three months each in separate cases.
The station officers have been asked to implement these orders. tnn
