Music scene comes alive with Ghazals at Aaghaaz in city

Kanpur: The United Public School auditorium was abuzz with music lovers on Saturday as renowned Thumari and Ghazal vocalist Dr Shalini Ved Tripathi enthralled the audience with her soulful renditions at the ‘Aaghaaz-2024' event.
Organized by Shalini School & Cultural Society, the event aimed to connect the younger generation with mainstream music and revive the declining tradition of Ghazal singing. The packed auditorium resonated with thunderous applause as Dr Tripathi presented a range of compositions, including Hasrat Jaipuri's poem "Jab Pyar Nahin hai to Bhula kyun nahi dete" in her distinctive style.
The audience was captivated by Dr Tripathi's Sufi Ghazal "Deewana Ban Deewana kar" penned by Jagdish Prakash, "Kabhi Youn bhi Aa meri Akhon mein", and other compositions that showcased her vocal prowess. The spectators listened attentively, encouraging the performer with enthusiastic applause after each rendition.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Ved Prakash Tripathi, Reeta Verma, and Prof Indra Mohan Rohatgi.
