Missing lawyer: Advocates block road

KANPUR: A group of advocates blocked the main road outside the Kanpur court compound on Tuesday to protest against the failure of the police for not registering report about an advocate who is missing for the last four days.
Ashiq Ali, advocate, resident of Parampurwa in Juhi, disappeared on June 12. Mohd Ali, father of the missing lawyer, said that Ashiq Ali had gone to Kanpur court on June 12 but did not return.
The lawyer's parents had informed the Juhi police but they did not register the case. The worried parents then contacted the Lawyers’ Association and apprised its office-bearers about their missing son. A group of advocates on Tuesday brought the missing lawyer's parents and blocked the road at 3.30 pm. Later, senior police officials reached the site and assured the lawyers that after registering the case they would search the missing advocate.
