Mayor inaugurates children’s park and open gym at NSI

Kanpur: Mayor Pramila Pandey inaugurated a children park and open gym at National Sugar Institute here on Wednesday. Director of the institute Prof Narendra Mohan was present on the occasion.
Besides swings, slides and see-saw for children in the park, the open gym has a sky walker, chest and shoulder press, hand rotator and pull up bars in the open gym. Saplings were also planted in the park.
Welcoming the mayor, Prof Narendra Mohan said that the institute is continuously developing its infrastructural facilities which are considered essential for a world class educational institute campus. The present one is in the series of the facilities whose need was being felt for quite some time. The open gyms have become more popular after the Covid pandemic. The residents of the colony also can enjoy the facilities for all age groups in the gym, he said.
Mayor Pramila Pandey in her address congratulated the institute for its untiring efforts in making it a world class institute through its various activities which also include development of infrastructural facilities. “We are committed to make Kanpur as number one Smart City wherein contribution of all such organizations and individuals is required”, she said.
“We have been rated as the second most clean organization under the ministry of consumer affairs, food and public distribution on the all-India basis. We will continue our all such activities with enthusiasm, said Ashok Garg, president, Council of Students’ Activities (Cultural) while proposing the vote of thanks.
