KANPUR: With a view to replace the old oil circuit breakers with the new ones, Kesco will be taking a power shut down of nearly 12 hours in selected parts of the city on Thursday.
Senior Kesco official AKS Chauhan informed TOI that the old oil breakers of the 33 KV and 11 KV BS Park sub-station would be replaced by the construction division of Kesco.
The expected time for replacing these breakers would be 12 hours.
Therefore, four 11 KV feeders, namely Arya Nagar, Gangotri, Nawabganj and Akashvani, will be under shut down from 8 am to 8 pm on Thursday. There will be no power supply to a number of localities including Swaroop Nagar, Arya Nagar. Power will be restored after the work completes.
Meanwhile, continuing with its drive against power theft, the Kesco on Tuesday had registered FIRs against seven power defaulters. The drive was carried out by Kesco with police support.
The seven persons were caught red-handed stealing power. As a result, named FIRs were lodged against them with the Nawabganj and Kohna police. "FIRs against Dilip Kumar, Bhagwan Deen, Suman Devi have been lodged at Nawabganj police station. Shiv Baran, Raju, Rajendra and Diwari Lal are also accused of power theft. FIRs have been lodged against them at Kohna police station," informed AKS Chauhan.
