Man held for killing son, daughter-in-law

A young couple, who had held each others hand in the Chief Minister’s mass marriage event organized in Motijheel six months ago, were found murdered in their house in the Ram Bagh area under the limits of Bajariya police station in the city in the wee hours of Thursday.

Kanpur: A young couple, who had held each others hand in the Chief Minister’s mass marriage event organized in Motijheel six months ago, were found murdered in their house in the Ram Bagh area under the limits of Bajariya police station in the city in the wee hours of Thursday. Police have arrested the youth’s father in connection with the double murder and claimed to have recovered the murder weapon from him.

(27), a resident of Rambagh, who runs a tea stall in the area, lived with his wife Julie (25). At around 6:30 am, the police got information that Shivam and his wife have been found murdered in their house.
As soon as the information was received, Bajaria police as well as joint commissioner of police Anand Prakash Tiwari rushed to the spot. The couple’s bodies were found lying inside the house in a pool of blood with their throats slit.
The joint commissioner of police said that Shivam Tiwari lived with his family in the building where the murders have been carried out. “We are working on every possible angle to crack the double murder at the earliest,” he added.
Reports said Ram Bagh resident Shivam Tiwari had held Ruby’s hand in the Chief Minister’s mass marriage event organized in Motijheel six months ago. Prior to the killing, as per Shivam’s father, the couple had watched an IPL match on TV on Wednesday night.
Shivam’s father Deep Tiwari said that he was also present there and had gone to sleep on the terrace of the house at around 11.30 pm.
While working out the case, the police after 6 hours of the incident, claimed to have arrest Shivam’s father in connection with his as well as his wife’s murder.

The knife used in the double murder has been recovered. Joint CP has given a reward of Rs 50,000 to ADCP West, ACP Sisamau and Bajaria police for doing good work. The accused Deep Kumar Tiwari (70) runs a tea stall outside the hospital in Swaroopnagar.
The eldest son in the family, Monu Tiwari, is mentally ill. The younger son Shivam used to run ‘chaat-papri’ cart.
Shivam's wife Julie was a housewife. Late on Wednesday night, Deep and his elder son had gone to sleep on the terrace after watching the IPL match. After sometime the Deep came down. He had a knife in his hand. He quickly entered Shivam’s room and slit his neck with a knife in sleep.
During this Shivam raised the alarm and tried to escape, but Deep grabbed his hair and pushed him on the floor. Shivam slumped on the floor. During the interrogation of the police, Deep said that while killing the son, the daughter-in-law, who was sleeping, woke up and shouted for help. However, Deep, slit her neck with the same knife. After falling on the floor, she too succumbed.
Deep told during the interrogation that he was so fed up with financial constraints and domestic problems that he decided to wipe out the whole family. He said after this he had also planned to kill his elder son and then himself was planning to commit suicide.
