Man gets life term for killing father-in-law

A man named Nawab Khan and his friend were convicted by the additional district and sessions judge (XIII) on Thursday for committing murder of his father-in-law and sentenced for life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 15,000 each.

KANPUR: A man named Nawab Khan and his friend were convicted by the additional district and sessions judge (XIII) on Thursday for committing murder of his father-in-law and sentenced for life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 15,000 each.
The other sentenced person is Abdul Parvez, a resident of Ganganagar Daheli Sujanpur.
The complainant is Firoz Khan of Babupurwa.

His father Abdul Majeed was head constable of the dog squad of police and posted at Agra. Nawab Khan is brother-in-law of Firoz Khan. His sister Fareeda was married to him.
On July 10, 2006 Nawab Khan and Abdul Parvez came to his house and took Majeed with them. Around midnight Khan returned with Majeed's clothes carrying blood stains. When Firoz inquired about the blood, Nawab ran away.
Firoz went to the house of Abdul Parvez to seek information about his father. Parvez stated that he did not know that the clothes had blood stains.
Next morning, body of Abdul Mazeed was found over a platform of a house in Mangala Vihar. His throat was slit open.
Investigation revealed that Nawab Khan and Abdul Parvez had assassinated Majeed. The reason behind the murder was dowry. Nawab Khan was demanding a motorcycle from his in-laws. Majeed had refused to give him a motorcycle and had scolded him.
