Kanpur: A man was beaten to death by his son in Mangraulkalan village within the Kotwali police station jurisdiction in Mahoba district on Sunday morning. The accused fled after executing the crime.
The authorities have registered a case and formed a team to apprehend the suspect. The victim, Rampal Ahirwar (46), worked as a farmer in the village. His son, Ramashankar (25), developed alcohol and drug addiction. Father-son duo had frequent confrontations on assistance with agricultural work. On Saturday night they again had an argument. Next morning at six o'clock, while Rampal was asleep at home, Ramashankar attacked him with a stick, delivering multiple strikes to his head and face. Upon hearing Rampal's distress calls the family members reached there and sent him to Jaitpur's community health centre, where he died during treatment. The victim's father, Shripat, revealed that Ramashankar's addiction and refusal to work prompted Rampal's requests for farming assistance, which ultimately led to this violent act. CO Kulpahar Harshita Gangwar and Station Officer Radheshyam, accompanied by police personnel, visited the location to conduct investigations. The CO confirmed that the assault stemmed from domestic discord. Authorities registered a murder case against Ramashankar.
Previously, Ramashankar served time for a rape case four years ago. Rampal sold property to secure his son's release on bail. However, this intervention failed to reform Ramashankar's behaviour.
