Major fire in two units at Panki industrial area of Kanpur

KANPUR: A major fire broke out in a chemical and a paper manufacturing unit at Panki industrial area of Kanpur on Tuesday afternoon.
The fire broke out around 2pm in a chemical factory and soon engulfed a paper manufacturing unit located adjacently at site no. 1 of Panki industrial area.
At least 12 fire tenders reached the spot and efforts were still on to douse the flames.No casualty has been reported in the mishap so far, while the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Senior district and police officials, including district magistrate Brahma Deo Ram Tiwari arrived at the spot and was supervising the situation.
