Low intensity blast in Kalindi Express near Kanpur; no injuries reported

LUCKNOW: It led to panic among passengers onboard

after a low intensity blast took place in the toilet of the general category coach of the train on Wednesday evening.




No injuries have been reported. The train was made to halt at Shivrajpur station near Kanpur.

A senior railway ministry official said the blast in the general compartment of the train happened around 7.10 pm near Barrajpur station, about 35 km from Kanpur, reported ANI.

"Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) is present at the site and after they give clearance, the train be dispatched. Rail traffic is being dealt through other two railway lines available. There were no injuries or casualties in the incident," ANI quoted a railway ministry statement.
