Lawyers protest against B’desh
Kanpur: Legal practitioners donning black coats at the Kanpur court on Friday burnt the effigy of Bangladesh President Mohd Yunus, protesting against the persecution of Hindus there whilst chanting slogans against the Bangladesh government.They asserted that the reports emanating from Bangladesh have galvanised Indian Hindus, prompting demands for intervention.Numerous barristers emerged from the court premises at noon and set ablaze the effigy of President Mohd Yunus whilst voicing anti-government slogans. A barrister said, "Bangladeshis seem to have forgotten the brutalities inflicted on them by Pakistan. India had extended support during that period, yet now they're persecuting the Hindu community residing there." The persecution of Hindus warrants universal condemnation, yet certain politicians remained reticent on the matter, observed another barrister.
