KCA mourns passing away of former president

Kanpur: The Kanpur Cricket Association on Sunday expressed condolences over the death of its former president and state-level umpire, Prakash Mishra, who passed away on Sunday. His cremation took place at noon at Bhairav Ghat.The Kanpur Cricket Association was constituted in 1976, and he was the first secretary of the association. Thereafter, Mishra held various posts in the association, including president. He received the state-level umpire status in 1980 and was a member of the veteran cricket association for the last 20 years.In his honour, the Kanpur Cricket Association suspended the inauguration of its prestigious Kanpur cricket league, which was scheduled to be held at Green Park today. However, due to his sudden passing, the KCA postponed the inaugural match and converted the function into a condolence meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of chairman Sanjay Kapoor.
