KANPUR: Deputy registrar, firms societies and chits, Kanpur on Thursday asked the Kanpur Bar Association in compliance of All India Bar Council directives to complete all the formalities to register the model bye-laws.
In a letter to the general secretary, Kanpur Bar Association he also asked him to produce accounts, cash book, ledger book, stock register and passbook before his office as there was a complaint of financial irregularities against the KBA.

Earlier, a group of advocates led by Raghvendra Pratap Singh had complained to the registrar that present body was not complying the directives issued by the All India Bar Council. In those directions, the Bar Council had asked to conduct the election within six months under the model bye-laws.
Regarding the financial irregularities, the advocates had alleged that the present office-bearers were busy in constructing the chambers with sub-standard material. There was no maintenance of accounts. The body was charing exorbitant cost of chambers.
Meanwhile, Indeevar Bajpai urged the director, IIT to send a panal of experts to examine the quality of construction and for that KBA was ready to pay the fee.
