Kaushik’s unbeaten innings of 84 runs push Meerut Mavericks to post total of 8 for 193

Kanpur: Captain Madhav Kaushik once again played a fine unbeaten innings of 84 runs and pushed Meerut Mavericks to post a total of 8 for 193 runs. Madhav came in the middle after the fall of opener Parth Jain in the second over. He then carried the bat throughout the innings though he got a life in the last over when bowler Vineet dropped his high return catch. He faced 52 balls and hammered 6 boundaries and 5 sixes. Meerut’s innings will be remembered for the performance of Madhav Kaushik, Aaradhya Yadav and Zeeshan Ansari.Lucknow wicket-keeper Aaradhya did a fine job from behind the wicket by catching Rinku Singh off Shaurya and stumped Rohit Rajpal & Yuvraj Yadav. Zeeshan bagged 4 wickets including three in the third over. Madhav and Owais Ahmad scored 74 runs for the second wicket in five overs. Owais attacked all rival bowlers and hammered 44 runs in 24 balls plundering 6 boundaries and 2 sixes. Much was expected from Madhav and Rinku Singh but the pair could collect only 43 runs before they separated. Meerut lost four wickets on 163 runs. Rohit Rajpal, Aniket and Yuvraj fell prey to Zeeshan Ansari while Yash Garg was declared run out in a very typical manner. The sudden debacle pushed Meerut into a tight corner.
