Kanpur Maplewood XI downs Goldie Masale XI by 3 wkts

Kanpur: Kanpur Maplewood XI registered a narrow win against Goldie Masale XI by 3 wickets in a match of JNT Under– 12 cricket tournament at Kanpur South ground on Saturday.

Goldie Masale XI after being invited to bat posted a total of 9 for 128 runs and in reply Maplewood XI scored 132 for the loss of 7 wickets.

Cantonment club centenary Football – University Football club drubbed the challenge of Auraiya Football club by 3-0 in Cantonment club Centenary football tournament being played here under floodlight at Azad park on Saturday.

The winners scored all the three goals in second half and scorers were Akash kumar, Dikesh Singh who scored a brace.

In second match HAL outplayed RBI by 1-0.

The third match was played between Young combined team of Unnao and Kanpur’s champion Royal Sporting.

Both the teams created opportunities to score but failed to convert them in goals.

In second half Unnao boys got an opening on 36th minute outside right.

Adwait Shukla gave a floater in penalty area which was directed to goal by Digvijay Singh.

In the remaining time, Royal Sporting tried to get parity but they failed due to solid defense of Unnao team.
