Kanpur: Despite spike in Covid-19 cases, 5 hotspots turn into green zones

KANPUR: With influx of migrant labourers, the number of Covid-19 patients is increasing day by day in the city but the good news is that five hot spots have been converted into

green zones

and three to orange zone. On the other hand, after with four new hotspots, the number of hotspots has increased to 25.

District magistrate Brahmadeo Ram Tiwari, SSP/DIG Anant Deo and chief medical officer Dr Ashok Kumar Shukla at a meeting held here on late Monday evening decided to shift Prem Nagar area of Chamanganj, Bajaria,

of Nawabganj, Pheelkhan and New Chowk in Moolganj hotspots into green zones. Around 19850 residents of 2830 houses of five zones have become free from all restrictions. Offices, local markets have also opened.

Begumpurwa area of Babupurwa, Peeli Kothi of Collectorganj and

Narsinghpur

of Sachendi have been shifted into the orange zone. According to SSP Anant Deo, all four new hotspots have been barricaded and necessary restrictions imposed to check spread of the virus.

, returned from Mexico to Kanpur via the Netherland and Delhi.

At the airport, a health department team, consisting of Dr SL Verma, Dr Arunendra Singh and nurse Sapna Yadav examined the three foreign returned passengers and sent them to Grandten hotel of Sharda Nagar for quarantine.
