Kanpur Darshan: Locals get to know Bithoor history

Kanpur: ‘Muskaraye Uttar Pradesh’ Foundation, in its first ever event organised on Monday— ‘Kanpur Darshan’ took around two dozen members of Parivartan, Lions Club, Rotary Club teachers, engineers and representatives of social service organizations on a tour of historical and religious places of Bithoor town. Kanpur Darshan coordinator Anup Dwivedi, Sharad Trivedi, Dr Kamayani Sharma and Shrigopal Tulsyan designed the Kanpur Darshan tour starting with Moti Jheel and covering Atal Ghat, ISKCON Temple, Sudhanshu Ashram, Dhruv Tila, Brahma Khunti, Via Patthar Ghat, Laxman Ghat, Valmiki Ashram and concluding at Moti Jheel. Shikha Shukla, the guide, informed all the tourists about various historical, mythological, and religious places. She said, “Our efforts are to establish Kanpur as a major tourist destination.” All the tourists appreciated the effort of Uttar Pradesh Foundation and requested to start Kanpur Darshan Package Tour on every Sunday so that people of the city as well as visitors can enjoy the historical sites of Kanpur. Smile Uttar Pradesh Foundation president Vandana Nigam said that the Kanpur Darshan package tour could play an important role in the promotion of Kanpur tourism. Vice-president Anoop Dwivedi said that our endeavour is to start this innovation by establishing a dialogue with the district administration. General secretary Dr Kamayani Sharma said that this effort would also increase the Happiness Index of Kanpur. Coordinator Sharad Trivedi said, marketing of tourist places should be done.
