Kanpur Cricketers beat Tarun Club by 18 runs

Kanpur: Prashant Awasthi’s fine performance (105 runs and 3 wickets) helped Kanpur Cricketers beat Tarun Club by 18 runs in the final and won Malik Deshraj Kapoor memorial cash money cricket tournament which concluded at the Kanpur South ground on Wednesday.
The Cricketers, putting into bat, posted a score of 8 for 259 in 40 overs. Prashant Awasthi was the main scorer who scored 105 runs in 85 balls, plundering 12 boundaries and 2 sixes. Samanvay Dwivedi too contributed 79 runs. Mohd Sharim of Tarun Club bagged 4 wickets.

Tarun Club in response collected 241 runs in 38.4 overs. Mohd Sharim scored the highest 40 runs for his team. Prashant Awasthi scalped 3 wickets He was later adjudged as Man of the Match. Later, chief guest Vijay Kapoor, chairman, Co-operative Estate Dada Nagar gave away prizes to the winners and runners up teams. Sumit Patel and Ansh Chaudhary were adjudged as best bowler and batsman and got a cash prize of Rs 1500 each. The players who had scored centuries in the tournament also received cash prizes.
