On Thursday, he discreetly surrendered through his lawyer at the district and sessions court and was taken into judicial custody.
Nawab Singh Yadav, the former block head and owner of the degree college in Nasrapur, was arrested after a rape incident occurred on August 11, 2024. The victim's aunt was also implicated for allegedly taking the victim to the college.
During questioning, the aunt revealed that Neelu Yadav pressured her to alter her statements at the hospital, avoid medical examinations, and falsely implicate others. In return, Neelu Yadav transferred ₹4 lakh to the bank account of someone close to the aunt.
Based on the aunt's information, the police filed a case against Neelu Singh Yadav but failed to arrest him. Instead, he surrendered in the POCSO court. Meanwhile, a ₹25,000 reward was announced for his capture.
On September 3, Neelu Yadav evaded police and surrendered in court from where he was sent to Anaugi Jail. He was granted bail on September 27, and he absconded immediately.
The police took action against him under the Gangster Act. SP Amit Kumar Anand said that Neelu had been sent to jail.
