A jeweller was robbed of cash and jewellery worth several lakh by motorcycle-borne armed miscreants in Chakeri on Sunday evening.

KANPUR: A jeweller was robbed of cash and jewellery worth several lakh by motorcycle-borne armed miscreants in Chakeri on Sunday evening. The jeweller was left critically injured by them when he resisted their loot bid. They thugs even opened fire on him. The bullet got stuck in his waist and the two fled from the spot. He was then rushed to KPM Hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.
The incident took place in Chakeri police limits. The police identified the injured jeweller as Deepak Sahu, a resident of Kanzikhera. The police said Deepak was returning from his shop and was carrying cash and jewellery. While on his way home, he was attacked and looted at Ramadevi flyover. The police have launched a manhunt for the accused.
