KANPUR: The Jat agitation has affected the movement of the trains across the northern parts of the state.
Kalindi Express remained cancelled on Tuesday. Toofan Express has been partially cancelled.
The Jat agitation entered the 10th day on Tuesday. The demonstrators have disrupted rail traffic between Delhi and Lucknow. Only Lucknow-New Delhi Shatabdi Express is continuing to run between the two cities despite the agitation.
A clerk at the reservation counter said that around 1,200 tickets of Kalindi Express were cancelled.
Meanwhile, a goods train heading towards Lucknow came to a halt when its engine developed snag near Jhakarkati railway station here on Tuesday afternoon. Station superintendant Mewalal reached the spot. The snag was repaired and the train resumed its onward journey to reach Lucknow.
