KANPUR: Isolated rains on Saturday afternoon brought respite for the people from the sultry. Later, the weather took a u-turn. The sky became clear and the mercury rose.
The maximum temperature was recorded as 30.2 degrees and the minimum stood at 25.2 degrees.
The isolated rains also gave rise to humidity. The humidity recorded in the morning was 84 per cent which further increased in the noon to 92 per cent.
Places like Mall Road, Gumti and Naveen Market received rainfall.
According to the weather scientists of Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, changes in the wind direction from north-easterly to easterly caused isolated rains. According to predictions, cyclonic conditions may develop, causing heavy rains next week.
Meteorologist C B Singh said that the city may receive heavy rains in a day or two.
