IPM Careers beat Kanpur Phoenix in Griplock trophy

Kanpur: IPM Careers humbled Kanpur Phoenix XI by 5 runs in a thrilling tie of JNT U-12 cricket tournament for Sigma Griplock trophy held at the Kanpur South ground here on Friday.
IPM Careers, putting into bat, posted a total of 8 for 141 in 25 overs. Suryansh Chauhan scored 54 runs in 52 balls. Siddhant Bajpai bagged 4 wickets for 30 runs. Kanpur Phoenix in reply collapsed on 136 runs.

Maplewood XI, in another match, outplayed Liverpool XI by 57 runs.Maplewood, after being invited to bat first, scored 3 for 193. Liverpool XI in reply could collect 136 runs and lost the match.

Badminton: Yonex Sunrise first UP state junior major Badminton championship will be organized jointly by Kanpur District Badminton Association and the regional sports directorate at the newly-constructed badminton hall from June 15 to June 18. According to DP Singh, secretary KBA, around 250 shuttlers from all over the state will participate in the event.
Kanpur Badminton Association officials have expressed happiness over allotment of the event.
