Hot and humid weather played spoilsport

KANPUR: The hot and humid weather helped in increasing the sale of the water pouches during the time of the `Aabhar pradarshan aur Kanpur jodo yatra' taken out by the city Congress leaders here on Sunday.
The march scheduled to start at 10.00am was delayed by almost an hour. The hot and sultry weather made the supporters of Sriprakash Jaiswal take resort to purchasing water pouches to quench their thirst.Many were seen carrying mineral water bottles while others opted for cold drinks and `Nimbu-Paani'.
The female party workers kept looking for the protection of a shade. Some workers also used the Congress party flags as umbrellas to save themselves from scorching heat. A few others were seen with the flag wrapped around their head. Meanwhile, the shopkeepers saw an increase in the demand of water bottles, pouches and cold drinks. Even juice vendors did a brisk business.
