History-sheeter Ashok Yadav’s house demolished

Kanpur: The three-storey house of history-sheeter Ashok Yadav alias Munua was demolished in Dharnidhirpur Nagariya village of Kannauj in the presence of the administration and police officials on Thursday morning. The house was illegally built on encroached land worth Rs 8 lakh. Ashok was arrested for opening fire on a police team and killing a constable on December 25.Extensive deployment of police and PAC personnel was made for the demolition. Senior administration officials including sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Chhibramau Umakant Tiwari, all the police station in-charges including of Chhibramau, Saurikh, Gursahaiganj, Sakrava, Talgram, Vishungarh were present along with the police force. After confirming that the house, on Gata no: 578 of Dharnidhirpur Nagariya village under Vishungarh police station, was built on encroached village council’s land, action was taken under under section 133 CrPC and a a demolition order was issued on January 2 2024, said SDM Umakant Tiwari. The eviction action was also taken by tehsildar Anubhav Kumar under section 67 CrPC. “The Tehsildar Court had placed the notice outside the history-sheeter’s house giving sufficient time for eviction and on Thursday the illegal structure was razed to ground,” said the SDM. The value of the encroached land was estimated as Rs 8 lakh on the basis of circle rate, he said. “It has also been ordered to pay 5 per cent compensation on the estimated cost of demolition and to deposit Rs 40,000 in the Revenue Court within 15 days,” said the SDM. Munua, along with his juvenile son, had opened indiscriminate firing at the police team which had come to arrest him on December 25, 2023 evening. In the firing, constable Sachin Rathi (28), posted at Vishungarh police station, was injured. He died during treatment in hospital. Later, Munua and his wife were arrested after an encounter and were sent to jail, while their minor son was shifted to a juvenile home.
