KANPUR: High humidity in the atmosphere left the city residents sweating on Wednesday. The humidity was 88% in the morning hours, which declined to 77% in the afternoon hours.
The maximum temperature recorded on the day was 34.8 degrees Celsius, whereas the minimum temperature was 27.6 degrees.
The weather scientists at Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology said that this increase in humidity was due to continuous cloudy weather.
Meteorologist C B Singh said that the conditions for isolated showers are still prevailing and the city might witness heavy rainfall in the days to come.
He added that the fields are containing an optimum level of moisture due to previous rains and farmers can plan for sowing of millet and pulses as the weather is quite favourable this year.
