Heavy rainfall likely today

KANPUR: The meteorological department predicted that the city may receive heavy rainfall and thunder storm on Friday.
The weather scientists of Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology said the reason for scanty rainfall so far is changing direction of wind in the past few days.
Agro-meteorologist of CSA C B Singh said that the monsoons were a bit delayed due to the development of cyclonic conditions which caused isolated and scattered rains.
He added that due to change in direction of winds, the anti-cyclonic conditions are continuously building up which had further increased the chance of heavy rainfall in the city.
The mercury touched the mark of 35.8 degree Celsius on Thursday, whereas the minimum temperature stood at 28 degrees. The humidity was 89 per cent in the morning.
